OVERSEER & PASTOR
L. Andre Person, Sr.
Overseer L. André Person, Sr. is a passionate leader, dedicated shepherd, and an anointed preacher with a heart for God’s people. He is the youngest of three children born to Apostle Alexander and Dr. Helen Person, alongside his siblings Gregory and Dionni. Raised on a strong foundation of faith, Overseer Person has been immersed in church life since birth, faithfully attending St. Matthew Holiness Church; now known as New Harvest Temple.
On June 26, 1990, after a Tuesday night Bible Study, he gave his life to Christ. That same summer, he was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to ministry. At just sixteen years old, he preached his initial sermon, “Breathe on Me,” becoming the youngest to do so at his church and the first to follow it with a prayer line.
A gifted and anointed musician, Overseer Person played for various musical groups throughout the tri-state area. It was through music ministry that he met the love of his life, the former Shelby Lewis. The two were united in holy matrimony on November 4, 2000, and are blessed with two children, Lamar André Jr. and Shaylen De’Lise. Early in their pastoral ministry, they also adopted Floyd Littles as a son.
Overseer Person received his education in the Southeast Delco School District, where he was a distinguished member of the National Honor Society. He pursued higher education at Delaware County Community College, Full Gospel Bible Institute, and Lancaster Bible College. His theological training and spiritual growth further prepared him for a life of impactful ministry.
Licensed as a Minister of Evangelism in 1999 and ordained as an Elder on July 17, 2004, Overseer Person continued to grow under the mentorship of his father, Apostle Alexander Person. On June 26, 2005, Apostle Person retired and appointed him as the new Senior Pastor of St. Matthew Holiness Church, which he later renamed New Harvest Temple to reflect a renewed vision for Kingdom Expansion.
Under his leadership, New Harvest Temple has flourished as a ministry rooted in faith, biblical teaching, and the demonstration of God’s power. Overseer Person’s ministry is marked by salvation, healing, restoration, and miracles. His leadership extends beyond the pulpit: he is a mentor, encourager, and servant-leader, driven by a desire to see individuals and families thrive both spiritually and personally.
He currently serves as the General Overseer and Establishmentarian of the Refreshing Harvest Assembly of Churches. Additionally, he supports the pastoral care team at St. John Church of the Apostolic Faith in Camden, NJ, and serves as an Overseer within the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries (CCFM) under the leadership of Bishop Michael A. Blue and Pastor Malinda Tarte-Blue.
Overseer Person has humbly served the Body of Christ in nearly every capacity: usher, devotional leader, adjutant, driver, musician, evangelist, youth pastor, prophet, elder, junior pastor, and senior pastor. Yet, with all his accomplishments and responsibilities, he finds his greatest joy in simply being known as a servant of God.
